Valentines' Day- What's behind it?

Hello Valentines Month.. Valentines for me is something sweet. It reminds me of the history of Valentines' Day. Valentine is a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men must become soldiers and leave their families behind. Therefore, young lovers would keep their marriages in secret with the help of Valentine in the Catholic Church. When Claudius discovered, he put Valentine to death. After that, the story of Valentine became a sympathetic and romantic figure for people especially in England and France. If this true, Valentine must be a romantic and generous man. The story of Valentine is murky, but it is filled with love, romance, and sacrifice. Imagining to be in Rome period.. what if you were one of those soldiers lover? Will you sneak out to see Valentine for helps ? I would probably not, I'd rather leave Rome and emigrate to where is far from rules and authority. Well, who does not want to be free and love freedom? This also reminds me of who we are now and human evolution. I hate to say that we are living in the selfish era where we just have to survive and excuse our selfishness for a survival. I still believe that we don't need to be selfish in order to survive. Human race can occupy with conformity and mercy. My point for February is to love and to be loved. My love is for myself, family, and inhabitants. I have got a plan on Valentines day to spend time with my beloved friend and myself. A past few weeks, I love myself more than before. I have learnt that happiness is always right on your nose, you just have to be positive and know how to grab it. I hope you find love on Valentines' day and have a good one. Peace. AW.
